The whole point of me writing this is to merely be an example, and so that I can be transparent with you guys, my readers. My time with God lately has been so good, and it's been the main thing on my mind, hence why I wanted to write about it. This post is going to offer some helpful hints and advice on making your own devotions special and suited to your own individual needs.
Having your own personal devotional time is so, so, so super important for any believer. Even if it's just five minutes a day during your lunch break, having time spent specifically with God will do wonders for your spiritual walk. How will you ever grow as a Christian if you don't actually spend time utilizing the wonderful gift God has given His followers - the ability to come to Him whenever we want to talk about whatever we want, so that we can form an intimate relationship with God the Father? Isn't that what makes being a Christian so wonderful, that it is a relationship and not just a religion with a set of rules?
I believe that having a set, daily devotion time is a part of what allows teens and young adults to stick with their faith and continue going to church as they grow up. There comes a point when being spoon fed ideas about faith is not enough anymore, and we need to learn how to learn on our own - that is the difference from being a passive, uncommitted Christian, and being on fire for Christ.
