110 Days to Go...
My advice to freshmen:
My second piece of advice is to make good friends early on that will carry you through the years of high school, but also, don't be afraid to make new ones. I'm a little biased on this point because I've been lucky enough to have been friends with my best friend since third grade. However, I've learned the hard way that making new friendships as time progresses is just as important, especially since she transferred schools this year. No matter when you make them, friends are undoubtedly important in making the years of school go that much smoother.
Lastly, don't take your days in high school for granted because, one day, you won't have any more days in high school left. I'm not trying to be all sentimental about it, but this is a unique season in your life. I'm probably the last person to give this advice since I can't wait for graduation and all, but I'm still treasuring my last few days in high school at the same time. With the way I'm feeling right now, I'm content to both stay in school and go ahead and graduate. Basically, you should look forward to the future but still be happy or content with where life has you. This is probably how people should go through life anyway, regardless of whether or not they are in high school, college, the work place, etc. Hating your current life gets you nowhere, so be positive and you'll be a lot happier in the long run. :) Plus, you don't want to look back on your life a few years from now and regret that you wasted your time in high school by living unhappy and depressed.
Anyway, that is the more important advice that I personally have for surviving high school, even though there are probably hundreds of other valuable advice out there. If anyone has any advice they would give to someone going to high school in the fall or is in high school right now, feel free to mention it in a comment. Also, if anyone has any topics they would like me to write about in the future, leave a comment and I'll see what I can do. I won't do every suggestion, but I will keep it in mind.
